“We’re letting our light shine brighter and cleaner with new LED fixtures using 1/3 the electricity, and new boilers moving our heating from 60% to 98% efficiency.  Our goal is to become an Energy Star congregation, and we’ve been greatly helped by the Energy Stewards program of Ohio Interfaith Power and Light.  Through Energy Stewards we received a Level II energy audit with 75% paid by a state grant.  Our consultant also informs us of rebates through Duke Energy which are paying up to $100 per fixture for parts and labor for replacing fluorescents with LEDs.  We challenge all congregations – Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Unitarian-Universalist, everyone – to join us in this practical way to love and care for our planet and the health of all creatures who share it.”
